AUC School of Business is the leading business school in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region where entrepreneurship is at the heart of the School. The School’s programs are built around entrepreneurship, responsible business, and economic development. Over the past 10 years, the School has become a leading force in the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt and the region. Through academic and executive education programs, quality impact-oriented research, and various initiatives targeting entrepreneurs, the School has vigorously contributed to spreading the entrepreneurial spirit and increasing the startup activity in the region.

With its continuously expanding list of entrepreneurship courses and entrepreneurship initiatives, the School also houses the region’s most successful university-based startup accelerator, the AUC Venture Lab. The American University in Cairo is also part of the Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education, which is a global business school partnership. Finally, the School takes pride in its status as a true entrepreneurial hub at the heart of the Middle East and North Africa.

Entrepreneurship Summer Program (ESP)

The Entrepreneurship Summer Program is a two-week intensive summer program designed by the School of Business for international students to explore into the world of entrepreneurship through interactive classes, field visits to companies and incubators, meetings with successful entrepreneurs and social and cultural visits in Egypt. The program prepares students as they enter the employment market after graduation and encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. Networking and the exchange of ideas are among a diverse cohort, is an integral element in this program. The program is delivered in English by experienced faculty, international practitioners and instructors from diverse backgrounds. The program is built on interactive discussions, experiential learning, group activities, cases and guest speakers.

 

What ESP is Offering?


When partaking in this two-week journey to discover the entrepreneur within, you will: 

  • Gain international experience and more global exposure in the entrepreneurial system

  • Develop a strong understanding of entrepreneurship concepts through debates and international discussions with seasoned entrepreneurs in the Middle East

  • Access numerous opportunities to meet and network with entrepreneurs of different backgrounds and nationalities

  • Visit successful international companies and get an insider’s perspective

  • Attend practical seminars geared toward developing leadership and entrepreneurial skills

  • Become part of a global network of the Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation community

 

    Who Delivers the Program?

    The program is delivered in English by:

    • Experienced AUC faculty at the School of Business and beyond
    • Members of the Babson collaborative
    • Experienced local and international practitioners
    • Entrepreneurs and instructors

    Who Can Apply?

    • International students
    • Undergraduate students enrolled in a university by the start of the program or fresh graduates (graduates of the year 2017 or after)
    • Students from all fields are eligible (Business, Economics, Engineering, computer science, Information Technology and more)
    • Have an intermediate-level English language skill
