The research team asks for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) permissions regarding carrying out data collection and abides by the ethical codes provided by each university. Furthermore, the research team takes the formal written approval of every respondent for participating in the experiment and the data collection process, and no coercion is displayed on the respondents for participating in the experiment or filling out the questionnaire. Respondents are completely free to withdraw from the research study at any stage of the project without penalty or loss of benefits to which participants are otherwise entitled. The research process does not in any way physically or psychologically harm participants. The nature of this research study is to be informed to all respondents and the confidentiality of the participants is preserved throughout the study in order to ensure that participants can respond without any fear of consequences. We ask participants to participate in our experiment by registering their emails in ORSEE the program then we use their data to do stratified sampling. We contact subjects by email and they are informed of the timing during which the survey and the experiment will run. Encrypted data is kept on secure servers. Moreover, Identifiers are removed when data collection is completed and any identifying information will not be made available to or accessed by anyone but the research team. Behavioral and Economic Decision-Making Lab (BEDMLab) will never sell or share any personally identifiable information to third parties without subjects’ permission.
