AUC School of Business Recognized as Beta Gamma Sigma’s 2019 Honors Chapter

سبتمبر 3, 2019

This year, the School’s Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter has been qualified for recognition as an Honors Chapter, which is indicative of a campus where academic excellence is highly valued and where the faculty officers of the chapter work diligently to enhance Beta Gamma Sigma’s stature on campus.

The School will be recognized for this achievement during the upcoming regional dean’s conferences and during the annual AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) conference in Colorado, USA in April. Furthermore, the School will be recognized as an Honor Chapter on Beta Gamma Sigma’s website and in their Recognition of Excellence book.

Each semester, the student with the highest GPA in each department or concentration within the School of Business receives the distinguished Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime membership in recognition of their outstanding scholastic achievements and are awarded the right of being considered the “Best in Business” since Beta Gamma Sigma recognizes business excellence.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the International Business Honor Society. Since 1913, the society has recognized and honored top-performing students from around the world in business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). With more than 600 collegiate chapters and lifetime members from over 190 countries, Beta Gamma Sigma is a global network bringing programs, connections, benefits and opportunities to every individual in the organization.

Recipients of the Beta Gamma Sigma award constantly feel appreciative of being a member of the society. Yasmine Galal‘18, a double major in marketing and economics, reflects that: “being a Beta Gamma Sigma member is a great honor. The society spotlight announces new benefits and opportunities for us continuously. Moreover, it also grants us access to a prestigious worldwide network of other Beta Gamma Sigma members globally.”

Salma Farrag‘18, a double major in accounting and finance, concurs adding that: “Being a member of a highly credible international business honor society such as the Beta Gamma Sigma Society and being recognized as one of the top-performing students from such a great entity have added a lot to me as an AUC School of Business graduate. The Beta Gamma Sigma Society provides a global network of successful students from top-notch schools all over the world making it an outstanding prestigious community which I am delighted to be part of.”

The AUC School of Business Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter was initiated in 2006. Ever since, undergraduate top-performing students have been awarded the membership once per semester during a bi-annual honors assembly celebrating top achievers. Alumni members of the Beta Gamma Sigma represent the best of the best in business education; we are proud to call them our change agents and look forward to many more alumni joining the esteemed society.
