AUC Students Win First Place in the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition
An AUC team made up of four students from the School of Business and the School of Sciences and Engineering won first place in the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition (EngComm) in Montreal, Canada. Sherif Kamel ‘88, ‘90, ‘13 recalls with amusement the time a faculty member approached him to ask him what he was doing sitting in her class. “I’m a student,” he said. Kamel was dean of the School of Business, and at the same time, was on his way to receiving his third degree from AUC: a Master of Arts in Islamic art and architecture. Kamel had received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration years before, but this degree took a total of nine years to complete.
