A. Core Courses
Real Estate Economics (24 hrs)
This course is designed to apply economic theory and analytical techniques to real estate markets to describe, explain, and predict demand, supply, and price patterns. The latest economic thinking and research are used to analyze real estate market fundamentals and forecasting investor behavior. Relevant concepts from microeconomics, macroeconomics, behavioral economics, and industry economics are covered. Macroeconomic policies and the relationship between property and business cycles are also covered in depth. By successfully completing this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge needed of the principles of micro and macroeconomics and the skills required to apply them to the real estate industry through case study analysis and interactive learning.
Real Estate Finance and Investment (24 hrs)
This course enables participants to understand various financial tools necessary for financial decision-making and how to develop full-fledged financial models for different real estate projects, including residential, office, commercial, retail, and hospitality. Participants will learn how to design, develop, and analyze user-friendly financial models using practical recommendations on form and style. The course is designed for a highly interactive learning experience using local project information, case studies, and active learning techniques.
Advanced Real Estate Valuation and Appraisal (24 hrs)
The course provides participants with the required knowledge and analytical skills to assess the property market and be able to recognize which situations require which types of valuation, choose, apply the right methodology and create the valuation report in line with RICS best practices International Valuation Standards (IVS). By employing active learning methodologies, case studies, and workshops, the course will equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to begin working on valuation assignments and demonstrate their ability to critically examine valuations, recognize red flags, apply professional judgment and gain a thorough understanding of the principles of valuation practice and take the initial steps toward a career as a property or project valuer.
